Chikankari

Chikankari is a very delicate and intricate style of embroidery from Lucknow. This form of embroidery emanated  from as back as the Mughal period with a lot of Persian and royal influence. Initially, the embroidery was done using white yarn, on colorless muslins known as tanzeb. Today it is done on a variety of fabrics and is almost a dying art, given its intricacy and time-consuming nature.
